Illustrated in blue by Boris Artzybasheff. Gray-green cloth boards with dark blue boat design and title to cover. Publisher's paper spine label. Publisher's blue stain to top-edge. Very light rubbing to extremities. Light brown stain to bottom of spine, and to bottom edge. Graphic endpapers in blue by Artzybasheff. Light foxing up to page twenty-eight only. Rubbing and several chips to edges of dustjacket. Age-toning and spots of light brown stain to dustjacket. Some additional notes on "post-its" temorarily affixed to several pages. Protected in mylar. Newberry Honor Book in 1941.
