This is One Book in Good Condition from the Special Edition of a Set of L. Muhlbach's Historical Fiction. Luise Muhlbach is the pen name for Clara Mundt, b. 1814 Neubrandenburg, d. 1873. She was a German writer best known for her works of historical fiction. They were quite popular for a relatively short time. Many, if not all, were translated into English. This novel was translated from the German by F. Jordan. The books in this set are all bound in red extended cloth over the spine with most of the the gilt rubbed off the titles which are imprinted into the spine-- looks blind-stamped now; boards covered with green cloth, quite clean, one small whitish spot on front, corners lightly scuffed, some edges rubbed, sewn binding is tight, solid and square.
