About This Item

Harper & Brothers. Very Good- with No dust jacket as issued. 1855. First Edition. Hardcover. Maroon cloth covered boards with gilt titles and designs, the cloth discolored to brown with age. A First US Edition copy showing splits to cloth at gutters, bumped corners with board showing, darkening to yellow endpapers with a miniscule pastedown of previous owners printed name on ffep. Some play in the whole but still solidly bound, interior intact and while the outer appearance is of a copy with moderate to heavy edge wear, the solidity of the whole belies its appearance! .
