Hardcover without dust jacket, xx + 581 pages, plus black-and-white illustrations, plus Methuen's "March 1909" 40-page catalogue of books; gently used, tight in binding, reddish/brown cloth covers with elaborate gilt decoration and lettering to spine still clear and legible but rubbed in places, light to moderate shelf wear to cover edges, corners and spine ends, some faded old waterstaining to fore edge with traces evident on just a few pages, ink signature and name of college on free front endpaper, all text pages otherwise clean and unmarked, hardly a trace of foxing.
