About Counterpoint Records & Books

Started in 1979, Counterpoint Records & Books is a genuine mom and pop-owned store just below the Hollywood Sign, nestled in the thriving Franklin Village area. It is located between the Los Feliz and Hollywood neighborhoods of Los Angeles.

We buy and sell second-hand and rare records, books, CDs, DVDs, ephemera, and various other popular and out of print cultural items. Whether you're looking for inexpensive copies of classic literature, signed first editions, contemporary art books, obscure occult volumes, vintage paperbacks, or any other reading materials, we have something for you. And whether your vinyl tastes lean towards old soul 45s, mono jazz 33s, 20th century classical recordings or punk 7" singles; you're sure to find something of interest.

Situated in the west corner of the rear of the store is our Harmony fine books and ephemera nook. Here we showcase our higher end, rare, signed, first edition, collectible, and antiquarian books and ephemera for serious collectors and curious browsers alike.

If you are looking to consolidate your own collection or liquidate an estate, we will be happy to look through your books, records or other items, and offer you cash or store credit for whatever we purchase. Please contact us via email at orders@counterpointla.com to set up an appointment to sell.
