London: David Bogue, 1845. First UK Edition. Hardcover. Good. 16mo. Pp. xii, 13-432; viii, 13-436. Illustrated with a fold-out map tipped in to vol. 1. Recased in dark red simulated leather cloth, titles stamped in gilt on the spines, blind-stamped borders, by Anthony's Bindery, Seattle. New endpapers. Map with split folds and repairs; both volumes moderately shaken with a few loose leaves, spine lean. Based in part on Kendall's letters written from a Mexico City prison after the 1841 Texan Santa Fé Expedition suffered defeat, and published in the New Orleans Picayune which he had co-founded in 1837.
