[iv]+xii+164(last colophon)+[4](blank, advertisement), coloured frontispiece portrait plus 2 black & white plates, 1 full page chart, endpaper map; demy 8vo; half navy ox-hide, the spine with gilt lettered goatskin title label, blue moire silk boards; top edges navy; ribbon marker; Edition Renard, Melbourne, 2004. De luxe edition, being one of 60 numbered copies thus bound. *Originally published in 1789, Tench's Narrative, the first eye-witness account of the First Fleet to be published in book form, has previously been reprinted in different forms. This is the first reprinting in its original form from the first edition.
