First Editions; Roy. 4to; Vol. I. pp. [x], xxxi, [1], 740 (with the added leaf 688-699); Vol. II. pp. xii,120, cxliv, cii, [1] errata; engraved frontispieces in each volume, in total 50 engraved and lithographed plates, charts, and plans (9 hand-coloured in volume one and 12 hand-coloured in volume two, one large folding coloured map at rear of volume I.) both uniformly bound in publishers original blue patterned cloth, title lettered in gilt on spine, loosely inserted binders advertisement, bindings are worn and damaged, hinges starting to split, some light spotting, fair set only would reward rebinding.
