Small leather bookplate of Frank Cutter Deering on front pastedown, bookplate of C.R. Sanders to rear pastedown, otherwise clean internally. Very good. In a blue half leather slipcase. Atherton and his party travelled from Kentucky through Michigan and into Canada. This volume prints his firsthand account of the Raisin River massacre and its preface, followed by his experiences as a prisoner of war at the hands of the British and Indians, including his observations of Indian customs.
