Summary: The principal object of Freycinet's expedition was the investigation of the shape of the earth, and of the elements of terrestrial magnetism. After having visited the Cape of Good Hope, the expedition sailed to Western Australia and on to Hawaii. Over 50 pp. relate to Guam and nearly 100 to Hawaii. New South Wales was then visited also.
