Book set in late 18th century United States and tells the story of Nathaniel Endicott, an 11-year-old orphan, who attempts to help a witch escape the power of the evil Witchmaster by distributing Christmas presents. 136 pp. Exceptionally illustrated in b/w by Bock. Front board carries an array of stars, spine black text, decorative ep's. 2 green pencil crayon marks at base of front board, moisture stain at top of rear. Text block is clean and unmarked. Digital pictures available on request. Incredibly illustrated by Vera Bock. Very rare work, possibly a publisher's sample as there are 3 purple ' The Copp Clark Co. Limited ' stamps in the early pp. of the book. Bookseller's Inventory # 090588.
