About This Item
Washington, DC: The National Geographic Society, 1930. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Better than Very Good, close to Near Fine. See scans and description. Washington, DC: The National Geographic Society, 1930. October, 1930, Volume LVIII, No.4. Quarto, illustrated perfect-bound wraps, a hefty total of 181 pages: 131 numbered pp. + a rather astonishing complement of 50 pages of nostalgic, artful ads, in front and in back. A very strong Very Good, approaching Near Fine; light dust at page-edge top, minimal spots of soil at covers, including a small staple-penetration dot (yes, hidden staples were included at the time) at top-left front cover - see scant. Almost no toning of the remarkable interior pages. Plenty of color images included by this time. See all scans. Feature articles: Glories of Minya Konka; Color Camera Through Unmapped China; Perennial Geographer; Chateau Land - Pageant on the Loire; New Alphabet of the Ancients Discovered (Cuneiform). More, of course. A scarce issue, particularly in this condition. Ships in a stout new box, of course - not a bag. LNG4
