Duyckinck, complete with 153 engraved portraits.. Quarto, [two volumes], iv, 616pp; v, 598pp. Publisher's full black morocco, embossed covers, spine, and trim. Title in gilt on spine and front cover of each volume. All edges gilt. Both volumes with a solid text block, light wear to tips of spine. Even toning throughout, plates generally clean. Previous ownership bookplate on front endpaper, inscription to front flyleaf. Both volumes complete with frontispiece and 151 full page engraved portraits, all with tissue covers. Each individual biography features a full-page illustration by Alonzo Chappel. An attractive set.
