(1)(short series list of recent titles) xvi+472+32 (pub.list), 2 maps, 106 text figs. Author's Preface dated September 1879 which would normally mean a 1st ed. in same year or 1880, but it is possible this is a 1st ed. this is No. 31 in the series. Prev. owner's small gilt label to front pastedown, and bookseller's tiny green label bottom same, most of end pub.list a little proud having had to be refixed, otherwise internally clean, tight & unmarked; covers good, front board has a few spots and hint of edge darkening but is basically bright, as is all clean back, spine a little darkened with slight bottom rubbing.
