About This Item
"Nenthorn was Otago's last quartz goldmining rush. Its rapid rise to prominence was matched only by its equally rapid decline: discovery, boom and bust all occurred within the few short years, 1888 - 1891. The recovery of the records of the Warden's Courts of Central Otago, and the discovery of the liquidation records of some of Nenthron's ill-fated companies provided an opportunity to study in detail the people and processes involved in the creation, management and collapse of a mining system." - from the foreword. Nice B&W and colour photographs and maps make this book a pleasure to look at
This copy in nice condition. Some sun-fading to the spine, and the covers have some evidence of rubbing. Price markings in pencil on flyleaf, but text otherwise clean and tight.
