Collectio of essays on several broad fields of inquiry covering social, economic and governmental conditions and activities in New England during the depths of the Great Depression. Each of the contributors was invited to discuss contempory movements and issues that seemed to him to be of the first importance and the resulting collection includes essays on governmental control of utilities, fisheries, social service in Boston, regional and city planning in New England, geography, forests, food supply, agriculture and others. A tight copy, lightly sunned at the spine amd with a short split to the front fold at the base of the spine.
