The use of this text book was compulsory for children in the ""upper classes"" of the Papuan Assisted Primary Schools system. The topics covered include Captain Cook and the discovery of Australia; Columbus and the discovery of America; Vasco da Game and the Cape of Good Hope; explorer John Hanning Speke and the Nile; the discovery of Port Moresby; hunting wild animals; a tale of Old Japan; and the burial of Sir John Moore after the Battle of Corunna.
