A Good copy. 8vo., viii, 9-394, (2 pages of ads) pp. Bound in the publisher's grey cloth, with title on spine in gilt, and publisher's monogram on the front board in blind. Spine lettering and design faded. Light to moderate soiling to the boards. Previous owner's neat signature on a front end paper and title page. Rear blank end papers contain 3 old, hand-written recipes. Light scattered foxing. A Good copy. ***Mrs. Hale wrote many volumes of poetry, was an editor of Godey's Lady's Book, was instrumental in establishing Thanksgiving as a National Holiday, and is probably best remembered as the author of "Mary had a Little Lamb". ***.
