Good/no dustwrapper. 8vo. b&w illustrations RK Duncan's study of developments in Physics and Chemistry in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries; The Period Law, Gaseous Ions, Radio-Activity, The Resolution of the Atom, Inorganic Evolution; b&w photo illustrations and text charts; heavy tanning to endpapers, prelims and text block, sections generally loose (but holding) sometimes showing through at gutters to inner spine, some lighter foxing in text; the former owner has added to rear endpapers in blue ink a short list of elements added since 1939 (and noted this - again in blue ink - to head of chapter II); boards rubbed, sunned/tanned to spine, and with trails of insect damage.
