Hardcover, no dustjacket, dark brown leather spine and corners and lighter brown cloth, marbled end-papers, no publishing date, a color frontis plate of "Typical Butterflies" introduces the reader to this beautifully-illustrated volume, there are twelve full-page color plates and countless black and white illustrations, 580 pages, the leather spine has some surface-wear as do the edges and the spine has a moderate cock, the binding remains tight and the contents are pristine, there is a small surface-abrasion to the marbled front end-paper .
