Very good; a bit of edge chipping to board edges; all else-clean, tight, & attractive.. 8 vo, red textured boards with black lettering on front board and spine; map of Russia in 1928 pinpointing generating plants, metal industries, and fuel throughout the country. Very interesting b/w illust. of workers and industries throughout; 162 pp.
This was written for use in Russian schools for students from 12-14 with the objective of acquaint children with the Five-Year Plan of construction launched in October, 1928. It explains the "planned economy and social planning. The final chapter is titled "New People" which is supposedly a "fragment from a book to be written 50 years hence." One illustration depicts houses before the revolution in which "...even roaches refuse to live." The is an absolutly unique publication.
