New York: Boni & Liveright, 1927. First Edition. Limited issue. No. 42 of 265 signed and numbered copies. Octavo (21cm); half vellum over black paper-covered boards; glassine (unprinted) dustwrapper; publisher's board slipcase; 118pp.Typical mottling to the vellum spine, still Near Fine in a slightly rubbed slipcase with a few short splits at joints, Very Good. Ink ex-libris to slipcase of Italian-American scholar Giovanni Giovannini (1908-1985).

A collection of aphorisms and short prose vignettes, literarily slight but the sort of book Anderson could get away with after the success of his 1925 novel Dark Laughter. This copy from the library of Giovanni Giovannini, the Catholic University English professor now best remembered for his long friendship with Ezra Pound during Pound's incarceration at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington D.C.
