About This Item

1790 1ed HUGE FOLIO Raymond History England MAP ROME Norman Conquests 100 PLATES
George Raymond was an 18th-century English historian who sought to correct the errors of historians in his work 'A New, Impartial History of England.' In this work, Raymond discusses the earliest times in Great Britain, the kings and queens of England and Scotland, impressive full-page engraved portraits, civil policies, and religious and political implications. There is also a section dedicated to the arrival and invasion of the Romans in Britain as well as the Norman Conquest.
The 100 illustrations in this first edition are particularly desirable; including the folding map of Great Britain – which is included in this example!
