About This Item

Text is clean and unmarked. Binding is slightly smudged and faded at the spine. A gift label to a university is attached to the front free paper. Volume was not put in circulation. A stamped "Received' stamp on a page before the title page. Title is a Life-In-America prize book. From the Foreword, "This book, I believe, might very well be named 'Inside Black America'. For it is an intimately detailed study of Negro life. Harlem, the most complex of Negro communities, is used as a sort of test tube in which the germs of Negro thought, and action are isolated, examines, and held up to full glare to reflect Black America."
