About This Item
Astoria, New York: New York Concertino Ensemble, 1984. Stapled Wraps. Near Fine. 8.5" x 8. The informative promotional brochure of this unique chamber ensemble is accompanied by a sound sheet (an actual phonograph record impressed on a thin, flexible vinyl sheet) containing a Vivaldi Sonata and a Corelli Sonata movement. [It plays at 33+rpm. One should place a coin near the spindle to stabilize it.] In 1981, Theodore Platt emigrated to the United States from the Soviet Union, and within five months of his arrival had begun to organize the Ensemble. The group was composed entirely of Soviet emigres. CONDITION: A Near Fine, bright, unmarked, uncreased brochure with light shelf-wear. The sound sheet has been played once and sounds fine. NOTE: It is advisable to glently wipe it with a wet tissue and allow it to dry completely before playing. This unique item is now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag with archival backing board.
