Clean gray paper-covered boards with black cloth spine, white lettering on spine. No bumping or wear; slightest hint of fading to board edges. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound, all pages are clean and unmarked. Illustrated with maps, wonderful historical photographs. 269 pages. Clean dust jacket is price clipped at upper corner of front inside flap, has a couple of tiny closed edge tears; enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. A unique and fascinating story of the history of New York City, written by a well-known architect, historian and coauthor of the AIA Guide to New York City. A beautifully illustrated study of how New York came to be the way it is. .
