Stuttgart: J.G. Cotta, Printers, 1867. Original green boards with half calf to spine and fore corners. Spine: red label with gilt titles, five raised ribs, moderate scuffing and some light surface vertical cracking. Gilt oval to front cover: Public Library Otago New Zealand. Moderate rubbed wear to some of the extremeties. Fore leather corners with light bumping and rubbing. Dusting of rubbing and soiling to green boards. Once green speckled edges now quite faded, mild foxing and light soiling. 'Green Island Public Library' stamp to fep, ffep & rep. Old style name and place to fep. Small booksellers sticker to foot of fep. Moderate foxing to eps. Mild foxing to many pages although mostly to margins. Binding very good. One plate missing-Waitomokia to face pg 233. Maps at rear book: one attached has 18 cm curved tear from binding. Second map torn from binding with 9cm horizontal tear on centre fold. 514p Heavy book. First Edition. Hb. VG/None.
