John Ade was the father of author George Ade and served as the Recorder for Newton County , Indiana. Newton County was the last of the counties created in the State of Indiana in 1860. John wrote this book when he was 83 years old and this was his only book. " A Collection of Historical Facts and Personal Recollections Concerning Newton County, Indiana, from 1853 to 1911". RARE, World Cat shows 1 institutional holding. This copy is VG. Exterior has has moderate mottling, but gilt is bright. Minimal edge wear. Inside is unmarked (other than PO stamp on inside front board and FEP), clear, and firmly bound. 314 pp. with fold out map of Newton County at the rear as of 1911. Occasional light scattered foxing.
