Boston: John L. Shorey, 1880., 1880.. Good. - Small quarto [8-1/4 inches high by 6 inches wide], soft cover bound in decorative blue & black wraps. The edges of the wraps are creased & chipped with some darkening & staining. Pages [65]-95 & [1] page plus 2 pages of ads. Illustrated with black-and-white woodcuts throughout & with 1 page of music staves. There are stains to the top margins of the first 3 pages & there is a piece out of the bottom corner of the last leaf. Good. <p>There is a full-page illustration of a stork by Harrison Weir.

Oak Brook, IL: Broland Publishing, 1967. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fair/VG+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ is tattered with numerous large chips and tears. Brown cloth boards underneath the clean and show only minor edge wear/bumps. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no signatures or bookplates, no handwriting found. The text pages are clean but the end pages do show some spotting and foxing. The second front end page is stamped in the corner "This book is given to your library in the hope that your pupils were read it, to understand what early pioneers had to overcome in building this country of ours.". Even though this notice, presumably from the author, states the book was given to a library, there are no library markings present.
