London: Victor Gollancz, 1966. Very good (very slightly cocked) in very good- dust jacket (spine darkened, slightly soiled, closed tear at back fold but protected by clear Brodart cover). The New York Times called this "the major spy novel of 1966." An ex-O.S.S. man who seeks revenge against the ex-S.S. man who tortured and killed his wife during the war, is enticed into going undercover for the Russians who have access to this hated German. Sometimes difficult to find this British first edition in the U.S. . 1st British edition. Hard Cover.
