About This Item
London: Chatto & Windus, The Hogarth Press,, 1984. Is she fact, or fiction? First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author on the title page, "for Robert - best wishes, Angela Carter, September '84", with a signed promotional postcard loosely inserted. This title won the 1984 James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction and in 2006 was successfully adapted for the stage. Octavo. Original red boards, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. Head of spine just bumped, tiny of wear to lower edge of rear cover, contents uniformly toned with a few spots to edges; slightly sunned spine panel creased at head, trivial foxing to head of flaps, unclipped, fresh and bright: a near-fine copy in like jacket.
