Rear board with extensive patchy dampstains to cloth.Tears and chips to cloth at ends of spine and corners of boards. Narrow split to gutter at front hinge. Moderate foxing. Folding map with some creasing and a 1" tear along fold. Previous owner's signature on title page, rubber stamps on some pages. ; "New Edition". xix, [1], 408, [1] pages + 23 [of 24] plates + 2 colour maps (full page frontispiece map + large folding map). Lacking one plate. Green cloth boards with gilt lettering and illustration on spine. Black border and decoration on front board. Page dimensions: 186 x 128mm. Travel, Africa. Illustrations include rhinoceroses and hippopotami. .
