Four volumes have a frontispiece illustration with a tissue guard; one volume has a fold-out facsimile document in Wilson's handwriting. With Memoirs and Notes by R. Shelton Mackenzie. At the back of volume 5 is a General Index, an Index to the Poetry, and an 8-page publisher's catalog. The set is a collection of 71 imaginary colloquies that appeared in Blackwood's Magazine from 1822-1835.
Condition:
Volume I has a crack at the rear hinge between the end paper and pastedown resulting in the back cover being a bit shaky. All other volumes are tightly bound with no cracks, no loose pages, and firmly attached covers. Cloth wear at the cover corners, and at the top and bottom edges of the spines. Consistent foxing to the pages throughout the volumes. Volume I has an inscription dated 1862 written in pencil on the front end paper. Overall the set is in Good condition.
