Presentation copy; inscribed by the translator, “Mrs. Blanchard in appreciation of her good work for women from the translator, Frances Lord, Sep. 12 1884.” Bound in contemporary or early 20th century 3/4 calf by Zaehnsdorf (for Scribner’s); front wrapper bound in; spine faded; very good. Lord also supplied a 21 page biography of the playwright.
