Norman Hartnell: 1901 - 1979, was the doyen of British couture for over half a century. He dressed two generations of the British Royal family and commissions from both side of the Atlantic from the wealthiest, most talented and prettiest women. "In this volume a group of specialists discuss his role and how we worked, always stressing quality, always studying the character of his customers and the occasion for which the dress was intended.
