The text is illustrated with 21 black-and-white photographs / maps. Tan coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles. Plaintext dustwrapper with dark pink coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. "This collection of essays together tells the history of the North London Collegiate School through a hundred years from its foundation in 1850 by France's Mary Buss." -- from the front fold over panel blurb. Softening to the back strip edges with a little rubbing of the book corners. Light browning to the text block edges and pages. Offset tanning to the endpapers with gift inscription to the three front endpaper. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip corners. There is a 1.5 " tear to the top edge of the front panel and there are smaller, 0.25 ", tears to the remaining panel edges. Sunning of the back strip and to the rear panel. Browning of the verso.
