"Northern Lights" (published in USA as "The Golden Compass") was named as one of the Top Ten Carnegie medal winners by the selection panel for the Library Association's 2007 70th Anniversary of the award, and chosen from their shortlist as the winner of the public vote, so named "Carnegie of Carnegies". Visually the exterior appearance is exceptional and particularly internally,is also in an exceptional condition/ state of preservation and presentation,for a book of its near 20 year-old age and nature, i.e. an ephemeral p/back/child's book. It really is an exceptional copy for its cleanliness,brightness and lack of other detracting faults that would accompany a p/back of similar age.
