Blue cloth, red & gilt leather spine label (some soiling, edgewear, dampstaining to lower fore-edge, minor bumping to corners), G- sound copy. First edition of this gripping account of the expedition investigating the possibility of new and shorter air routes between England and Canada, describing the brutal conditions, and surveying the ice sheet by dogsled and airplane.
