Contents include: 'Training and Employment of Platoons, 1918 [including Fighting Spirit, Tactics and the Principles of Attack']; 'Musketry'; 'Drill'; 'The Attack in the Open'; 'Notes on Raids'; 'Field Engineering'; etc. etc. Foldouts: 'The War Shot in the Making'; 'Diagram Showing the Formation of a Company During Stages of Practice in the Flagged Attack'; 'Outposts' in Open Warfare', 'After Capture of a Position' and 'Applied to Trenches'; 'Dispositions of Outpost Company [inc some fields of MG fire]; Sample register of soldiers; full Company composition/order of battle. Also schematics and tactical symbols throughout the text. Gift inscription top edge title page: 'Presented to Lieut. Col. A...Brown....' Shelf worn with chipped cloth at spine head and foot; ffep missing and front hinge loose; cloth a little grubby; minor damp stain to foredge of last twenty or so pages. A little worse for wear but the original article.
