About This Item
New York: Grove Press, 1964. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Book condition is Very Good; with a Very Good dust jacket. Stain to jacket base at spine, shows slightly at gutters of end papers. Weak toning. Text is clean and unmarked. Part of the Nova Trilogy, we see the Gysin/Burroughs cut/up method, a method (in Gysin's opinion) roughly equivalent to collage in the visual arts; though when applied to linguistic structures a central psychological effect was cutting lines of association, established by Control. An "avant-garde" masterpiece. First Printing is stated. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
Synopsis
Nova Express is a 1964 novel by William Burroughs, whose plot cannot easily be described. It features Burroughs' cut-up method of enfolding snippets of different texts into the novel, including T. S. Eliot's "The Waste Land", among others. It is the third in The Nova Trilogy formed by The Soft Machine, The Ticket That Exploded, and Nova Express. Naked Lunch is seen as a prequel to these. Nova Express was nominated for the Nebula Award for Best Novel in 1965.

About Evolving Lens Bookseller
We behind the scenes and running Evolving Lens Bookseller have been involved and otherwise employed in the used, rare and collectible book market for a decade, in both brick-and-mortar settings and online. Long before that, we were all readers, collectors and book enthusiasts. We know books, feel privileged to be a part of the collectible book market, and are passionate about the value of the content of the books themselves. Our inventory focuses on the fine & domestic arts, artist monographs and uncommon catalogs, university press publications, biographies, philosophy, theoretical psychology, sets, peculiar and uncommon fiction, signed books and modern first editions; however, we will always provide a range of quality content to choose from. Thank you for taking a look at our shop. Buy with confidence.
