London: Downey & Co. Ltd, 1898. 1st Edition This =. Hardcover. Very Good+. A handsomely three-quarter leather bound set of The Thornton Edition with anonymous binder stamp "Bound in England'. Cordovan red leather over marbelized covers, double-ruled, endpapers to match, gte, rest untrimmed. Internals gently toned. Some hingewear here and there. Not surprisingly, Jane Eyre shows the most wear: a short seperation to the front cover in volume 2 and a compression at the top of the spine in volume 1.

Edinburgh: John Grant, 1924. Hardcover. Very Good +. A complete, 12 volume set of the Thornton Edition, in original green cloth with gilt decorations and titles to spine, gte, sides untrimmed. Internals gently toned, as is usually seen. Re-issue of the Thornton Edition first published beginning in 1898. Gilt to spines a tad dulled. Still a solidly bound and readable set.
