About This Item
First edition hardcover with dust jacket, published by Farrar, Straus and Cudahy, 1962. Known primarily for his poetry, A.C. Swinburne also wrote two novels. Collected here are; 'Love's Cross-Currents', and 'Lesbia Brandon'. The dust jacket is intact, and is not price clipped. 5-7/8" X 8-1/4", 377 pages. Blue-gray colored cover boards, with green cloth covered spine, with the author and title imprinted on the spine in gold. Cover boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or creased, some fading to the edges of the blue-green color on the edges. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Jacket has some edge wear, some rubbing wear at the very edge to the head and heel of the spine panel, a short closed tear on the front panel of about 1/2" - just above the word 'Cross', some rubbing wear to the back panel, and three words are underlined in pencil on the back flap. Former owner's name written in blue ink on the first flyleaf at the top right. Age tanning to the text pages throughout the book, which would be common considering the type of paper used. Edges of the text block are relatively clean considering the paper. No further writing besides the former owner's name. Not a library discard copy. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
