Pencil erasure residue on fep.. x, 172 p. Footnotes. Index. This is issue No. 9 in the Atlantic Serices, a collection of studies on subjects related to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The following information about the author is from an obituary posted on-line: "Henry T. Nash of Rockport, a professor of political science and author of books on American foreign policy, died. He was 81. Dr. Nash was born in Philadelphia and educated at Haverford College, the University of Pennsylvania, and New York University. He received his doctorate of philosophy in political science in 1964. After working as an intelligence analyst at the MITRE Corp. and the General Electric Co., Dr. Nash embarked on a career in teaching. He became a professor of political science at Hollins College in Virginia in 1966 and was named department chair in 1967. During sabbaticals from Hollins, he was visiting professor of government at Wesleyan University and visiting professor of political science at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. Following his retirement from Hollins College in 1986, he held the David E. Sweet Professorship in political science at Rhode Island College and taught courses elsewhere. Dr. Nash published books and articles on American foreign policy, including the book "Nuclear Weapons and International Behavior." His "American Foreign Policy: A Search for Security, " published in three editions, was used widely in college classrooms. His influential article, "The Bureaucratization of Homicide, " published in The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, chronicled his disillusionment with military power as a result of his experience as an intelligence analyst during the Cold War."
