London: V. & R. Stevens and G.S. Norton, 1854. 57, [3], 24 pp. Forms. Includes 24 pp. publisher catalogue. Octavo (6-1/4" x 4"). Contemporary pebbled cloth with elaborate blind-stamped frames, gilt title to front board, front hinge mended. Moderate rubbing, corners and spine ends bumped, some fading to spine, small bookseller ticket to front pastedown. Light toning to text, moderate toning to publisher catalogue, light foxing in a few places. $250. * First edition. A handbook intended to explain one of the more arcane areas of Victorian-era Chancery practice. Its second and final edition was published in 1864. Both editions are scarce.
