Herbert Jenkins, London, 1951. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: Photographic. introduction by author, list of illustrations and list of sketch maps. Map illustrated endpapers showing the journey taken by the author. The text is illustrated with both black and white photographs, maps and sketch maps. Green coloured cloth covered boards with white coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper with green and white colour titles to the front panel and green and orange coloured titles to the backstrip. The journey the author took by bike across Europe in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Softening of the backstrip with rubbing along the lower book edges and to the book corners. There is a piece missing from the lower right-hand corner of the backstrip with ragged edges. Browning of the textblock edges and pages. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges. The lower book edges has numerous small tears with associated creasing full top heavy rubbing to the rear dustwrapper panel and staining is also visible. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
