About This Item

Philadelphia: Henry C. Lea, 1877. First Edition. Cloth. Good. First Edition. [10], 851 pages of the journals followed by 190 pages of the American Supplements. Half leather, bookplate of the John Crerar Library on front pastedown. Occasional perforated stamps of the Crerar Library as usual, spine number and Crerar label in gold gild lettering, otherwise clean. Original wraps bound in with some advertisements present. Although the original issues were bound together, this apparently happened later as the individual issues have soiling to their covers, occaisonal chipping at edges (not affecting text), and occasional tears. One page was torn (page 711), now repaired with archival tape. Sold as a bound periodical, and not collated though apparently complete. Binding fundamentally sound with wear at edges of boards and scuffing to edges of the leather at spine panel. Cloth. A bound exlibrary volume including issues of this journal from April 1877 through March 1878, with American Supplements.
