About This Item
New York: E.P. Dutton, 1939. First edition. Hardcover. Good. First edition stated. A key title in the field of occultism, Bowen's attempt to present a practical aspect of Hermetic philosopy of self-development in the schools of the Mystery tradition. Captain P.G. Bowen's father had been a student of madame Blavatski in London; the Hermetic Society of Dublin was established as ameeting place for like-minded young writers, poets, and intellectuals in the early part of the 20th century.
