Bartolommeo Gavanto was a 16th-century Italian priest known for his work in the Barnabite order. In addition to his important work 'Thesaurus sacrorum rituum', Gavanto published a work of Catholic liturgy, 'Octavarium Romanum'. In this work, Gavanto discusses the liturgical octave – the eighth day after a feast day. In covers octave celebrations in accordance to the Roman breviary and how they should be treated within the church.
