About This Item
London: Methuen, 1935. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very good plus/Very Good. The true first issue with ads at rear of book dated "535" (second issue has "835") and price of 7s./6d. at bottom of front flap. Very good plus in light blue boards with minor spotting to spine and slight foxing to page edges and first three pages. Otherwise bright and clean with firm binding. In a very good plus dust jacket with following minor flaws but no major chips, tears or stains: slight wear at spine ends and corners; minor fading to pink on spine; light soiling to back panel; and a slight crease to the edge of the front flap. An excellent copy of this early science fiction novel which explores the theme of the Übermensch (Superman) in the character of John Wainwright, whose supernormal human mentality inevitably leads to conflict with normal human society. Quite scarce with all first state points.
