Six pieces, bound in one volume, as follows: "John Rutlinger and the Phoenix Badge of Queen Elizabeth" (inscribed by the author, 1923), "Nicholas Hilliard, ‘Embosser of Medals of Gold'" (1908), "A Note on William Holle, Cuneator of the Mint" (1908), "Nicholas Briot and the Civil War" (inscribed by the author, 1914), "Thomas Simon, ‘One of Our Chief Gravers'" (inscribed by the author, 1932), and "New Light on Thomas Simon" (inscribed and signed by the author to Charles Anthony, 1936). 8vo, contemporary full black morocco, bordered in blind; spine ruled and lettered in gilt; original printed card covers bound in where issued. 10 plates, mostly fine plates depicting coins or medals; folding table. Binding a little rubbed; near fine. A handsomely bound collection of offprints and extracts by Helen Farquhar on various aspects of coin and medal engraving in 16th- and 17th-century England. Ex Charles Anthony Library, with his armorial bookplate; ex Richard Margolis Library, acquired from John Drury in 1974.
